Temporary electrical equipment:
Temporary electrical installations often present
serious fire and shock hazards to employees.
All electrical installations and repairs should be
performed by qualified personnel and must
comply with applicable provisions of the
National Electrical Code (NFPA 70). The type
and size of conductors should be adequate
for the expected load. Proper fuses or circuit
breakers must be provided. Conductors must
be located off floors where possible and be
installed so as not to be subject to physical
damage. In areas containing flammable vapours,
smoking or dusts, only electrical equipment
specifically designed for use in such hazardous
locations should be used.
